Surfer Magazine Visits Sunset

On March 1st, 2003, Surfer Magazine paid an unexpected visit to our modest little break. A slight swell was in the water, but for such prestigious guests to stop to take a peak at Sunset seemed quite out of the ordinary. After all, it was a steep NW pulse that day and it was hitting places like Swamis, WindanSea, and even El Porto far better than little old Sunset.

Naturally, when two individuals emerged from the Surfer Mag van to scope the scene, we assumed they would quickly apprise the mush factor and move on to bigger and better places. To our great shock, they proceeded to don wetsuits and grab their boards. Weirder still, they had longboards in their van! Yep, they grabbed their boards and ran down the steps like kids racing to a candy store. Pictures do not lie! These Surfer Mag dudes proceed to paddle into the lineup and surf Dos Banos with relish... and we've captured the evidence, so you will have it for your grandchildren!

P.S. I said March 1st, 2003, right? Perhaps the staff at Surfer Magazine is one month off???
